Jan R. Penvose-Yi, MD
Dr. Jan Penvose-Yi is a Board-Certified OB-GYN affiliated with Tri-City Medical Center. Her experience spans both coasts and the Midwest. She did her residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center at Buffalo, New York and graduated from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine. Dr. Penvose-Yi adopts a humanistic care philosophy where the patient is valued as a whole and the time is taken to provide thoughtful, thorough healthcare.
Dr Penvose-Yi has relocated to Sunny San Diego with her husband, three children and their two greyhounds. They have recently adopted a rescue Chihuahua who has rounded out the start of their new life. She and her family are now actively involved in paddle boarding, biking and jumping the waves whenever they can. She is very happy to have the opportunity to create her vision of a Women’s Wellness Center while embracing the lifestyle of Southern California.
Meet our Providers
Melanie Oddou is a nationally certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in full-scope OB/GYN care. From adolescence through adulthood, childbearing and menopause, she loves empowering women to feel healthy and confident in their bodies and lives. She began her career as a High-Risk Labor and Delivery Nurse after earning her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Brigham Young University. After earning a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Utah in 2011, she started practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in the University of Utah Hospital’s Obstetric Emergency Department and then served as OB/GYN Medical Director at the University of Utah’s outreach clinic.
Melanie enjoys spending time getting to know those she cares for and helping them understand the why behind health and treatments. She is experienced in managing pregnancy, abnormal pap smears, birth control, irregular periods, and menopause symptoms. And she loves helping her patients understand these things, too, so they can take charge of their health.
Melanie is happy to be back home in California and to be part of the Radiance team. She and her husband have a toddler girl and baby boy. They enjoy walking, cooking, and golfing together.
Pamela Nadav is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in OBGYN primarily with prenatal and gynecological patients. Her broad experience spans all the ages and stages of a woman’s lifecycle. Pamela specializes in young women exams including teens, expecting patients and their families, and the new phase of life for the mature woman with menopause and beyond.
Pamela has enjoyed many years in the Women’s Health arena including her role as Obstetrical Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, Women’s Health Lecturer, and Author of a childbirth education book and program.
As a graduate of the Harbor-UCLA Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program and the USC School of Nursing, Pamela loves learning as has been an advocate for the best care in Women’s Health.
Pamela loves her life at Radiance OB/GYN with Dr. Jan Penvose-Yi and all of the wonderful staff here. This practice is the best experience that she has ever had in her entire career.
Pamela lives in Vista with her husband, “Joe” and they enjoy their grown children and new generation of precious grandchildren. On her time off, you will find Pamela on long walks at the Flower Fields or at the Carlsbad Sea Wall. She loves to travel and treasures time to relax with family and friends.
Rumiko earned her National Certification of Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner from Harbor- University of California, Los Angeles and her Diploma of Registered Nurse Midwife / Public Health Nursing from the Kurayoshi School of Nursing in Tottori, Japan. She earned a Certification of Surgical Assistant from Colorado Surgical Inc.
Rumiko has practiced in obstetrics and gynecology since 1982. Her career in Women’s Health includes working at Tri City Medical Center and Scripps Encinitas as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, UCSD as a Registered Nurse in Maternal and Genetics, Scripps Women’s Clinic as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and a midwife at Kurekyōsai Hospital in Japan. In addition, Rumiko is a Certified Surgical Assistant. She enjoys meeting and caring for women of various ages from their early teens to into their 90s. She is fascinated by the amazing abilities women possess, their cultural differences, and adaptability. Rumiko was very excited to join Radiance OBGYN and assist patients with solving their concerns and issues.
Rumiko moved to United States in 1985 after meeting her husband. She speaks Japanese fluently. She enjoys gardening, especially growing vegetables and hopes to build a chicken coop this year. She has three children and 1 grandchild.
